Dad in his element

Good day

Dad had a good night last night and a good day today.  He is becoming very uncomfortable in the bed and has us constantly changing the angle of the bed.  We raise his head and lower it.  We raise his feet and lower them.  He just cannot get comfortable. This will change because his move to Tuomey in Sumter for rehab is eminent.  We know that they are just waiting for a bed to open up over there.

The surgeon came by tonight and told us dad was stable but weak from being in bed for so long.  He then commented that his weak state would change dramatically once he is in rehab.  He also added that the colostomy could be reversed as elective surgery if he wants to have it done in the future.  He added that no one has ever died from having an ostomy but that there are risks in surgery.  Nevertheless it was reassuring to hear that it was not necessarily a permanent situation.

So, we wait for the move to Tuomey and the move to Covenant Place looms closer.  My cousin, who is a professional interior designer and who owns her own company has assured us that she will take care of everything.  When she told me that I could not believe it.  She assured me that she would take care of everything and I believe her.  That is all the news for now.
