We visited dad last evening and found him awake and alert. He was extremely uncomfortable and we think it is because of the fact that he is more aware. He had conversations with us that made sense and when some music came on the TV he sang along with it. He still has a strong base voice and was on pitch. I commented that he still sang really well. Singing in the choir and the men's chorus was one thing he always enjoyed greatly.
We came home and after going to bed the phone rang. To our surprise it was dad. He wanted to know what time we were coming to the hospital. We had a short but very clear conversation. He told us the nurses were doing a good job and then gave the phone to his nurse after giving her instructions to find out when we were coming up to the hospital. We think he might be under the misinformation that he is getting out soon. But, we are very pleased that he is showing signs of coming out of his long sleep.
