Report from Clarendon Memorial

Today was a difficult day for everyone, not because dad is doing poorly but because he is showing symptoms of an elderly surgical patient.  He is slightly disoriented at times.  That shows up mostly at the end of the day when he is tired.  He is feeling well enough to know that he does not want to be in a hospital bed and yet he is not strong enough to get up.  The physical therapy techs did get him on the side of the bed sitting up and he stood up once or twice.  I think that thirty minute session of PT is what tired him out.  At the end of the day mom did not want to leave and I had to pry her out the door.  She just cannot stand leaving him at night.  When company comes to the room dad perks up....he has an audience....and he does well but it does tire him out
