Phone call

Dad's doctor called me today and said that dad was stable and in his opinion would do well with some rehab.  He really is sincere about turning dad around.  He seems to think that it is still possible.  I told him that dad was complaining about pain in his joints today and that if he went in and asked him how he was feeling dad would say, "Great."  I also told him that dad has a very high pain threshold and that if he says something hurts it must really hurt.  He said he would see if they could help him some with that.

This morning I went to the hospital around 6 am and spent two or three hours with dad.  This afternoon I drove mom up and went up to the room with her.  Dad was sleeping soundly.  I asked mom to just let him sleep but I know she will have him going in a while.  She just cannot let him rest.  I find it best not to interact with him when he is resting as I am of the opinion that his body is healing during those times.
